J. White & Son was a company based in Auchtermuchty, UK, known for manufacturing scales.
The company's history dates back to 1715 when John White, a blacksmith from Auchtermuchty, began producing weighing machines.
They were known for various types of scales, including beam scales and, later, electronic checkweighers. The image shows an antique balance scale, which aligns with their historical production of such instruments.
John White & Son played a significant role in the UK weighing industry, contributing to standards and pioneering electronic weighing technology.
