Vintage Merchant Navy officer's cap badge, likely dating from the World War II era. 
Features a metal anchor positioned on a padded red velvet center, surrounded by a gold bullion oak wreath. 
Constructed using gold and silver bullion wire on a black felt backing. 
These badges were worn by officers in the British merchant shipping fleets.
