Minimax Type B Conical Wall Mounted Fire Extinguisher 1940’s

Vintage Minimax type B conical wall mounted fire extinguisher. Known as an "impact" extinguisher, it was operated by driving the plunger knob at the base against the floor ("In Case of Fire Drive Knob Hard Against Floor"). This broke an internal glass vial of acid into a sodium bicarbonate solution, creating carbon dioxide gas that pressurized and expelled the water. Circa 1940’s. Condition as shown in photos.
