Large Original Framed Oil Painting “The Teuchit Storm" by the Scottish artist and teacher Charles Hemingway (1909–1976), who was born in Strichen, Aberdeenshire.
The Painting portrays a family or portrait group in the foreground with a dramatic, stormy rural landscape background featuring a white horse on a hill and white-walled cottages under a turbulent sky. Hemingway studied at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen and was heavily influenced by fellow Aberdeenshire artist James Cowie, later becoming an influential and eccentric art teacher at Aberdeen Grammar School.
