Antique French Limoges Porcelian Platter & Plates, £795
Late 18th -Early 19th Century. All good condition considering age. Some fading to Gold Gilt. No chips or cracks apart from one of the plates with hairline crack - see photos. 
Limoges refers to a region in the middle (slightly to the west) section of France. In the 1770s, it was discovered that areas rich with suitable clay were located near Limoges, and so, several porcelain factories set up shop in this region. Therefore, “Limoges” doesn’t denote a particular company, but rather the area where the factory was located. Hard paste Porcelian.
